Study the two photographs. In 1.5 minutes be ready to compare and contrast the photographs:
• give a brief description of the photos (action, location)
• say what the pictures have in common
• say in what way the pictures are different
• say which of the activities presented in the pictures you’d prefer
• explain why
You will speak for not more than 2 minutes (12–15 sentences). You have to talk continuously.
In the picture number 1 we can see a young woman cooking. Perhaps, she is preparing a dinner for her boyfriend. She is wearing shorts and a shirt. She is blond and very beautiful. In the second one we can see another girl, who is wearing a snowboarding suit and a snowboard on her legs. She also has a mask, gloves and a hat.
I can say that these two pictures are having much in common. They both are showing us young woman. Both of them are related with timespending.
But there is a difference as well. In the picture on the left we see a girl at home, making dinner and being a good housewife, on the right — a good example of an active timespending. Another difference is that the girl on the right is outside, while a blond on the left is in the kitchen.
As for me, I’d prefer being on the right. It´s not because I don´t like cooking, it´s just because I prefer spend my time activelly and I do snowboarding much better than preparing food.
