Comment on one of the following statements.
1. The Internet is the greatest time-waster.
2. Some people think that in the future traditional shops will disappear and all shopping will be online with home delivery.
What is your opinion? Do you agree with this statement? Write 200–250 words. Use the following plan:
− make an introduction (state the problem)
− express your personal opinion and give 2–3 reasons for your opinion
− express an opposing opinion and give 1–2 reasons for this opposing opinion
− explain why you don’t agree with the opposing opinion
− make a conclusion restating your position
Some people believe that using the Internet too much can be harmful for the person because you forget to do really important things. But others are convinced that the Internet is the modern way of living and it is fine to use it as much as you want to.
In my opinion a person should restrict himself from surfing in the web too often. Undoubtedly, the Internet can solve problems with information. If you want to find a book or to know more facts about Columbus, for example, then the Internet is the right place. But most people abuse that source of information using it only for their own pleasure. In that case they just waste their time which could be spent on some other more important things.
Others are convinced that the Internet cannot be harmful to the person. They say that there are lots of opportunities which the Internet provides. They believe that you can use it anytime you want.
I cannot agree with the above opinions as these people fail to understand that you get benefit from the Internet only if you moderately and wisely use it. Otherwise, you just waste time doing something useless.
There are two different points of view on the problem. I believe that the Internet consumes a lot of time if you do not use it in the right way.
