Now we are ready to start.

Josh: Hi, Peggy! Back to school for the last term, huh?

Peggy: Hi, Josh! Yes! How was your spring break?

Josh: Very disappointing. I had so many great plans to spend my spring break outside - you know, fishing, playing soccer, that kind of stuff. And look at the weather! Why does it rain so much here in spring? Isn't spring supposed to be nice and sunny? And it's also so windy! Even November was better.

Peggy: Don't you know? April showers bring May flowers!

Josh: Yeah, yeah… Well, you seem to be in a good mood. How was your spring break?

Peggy: Fabulous!

Josh: How can staying home for a week be fabulous?

Peggy: Who said I stayed home?

Josh: Well, inside. Where did you go? A library?

Peggy: And why wouldn't going to a library be fabulous?

Josh: I don't know. So, is that what you did?

Peggy: Actually, no. I spent four days of the week at a Comic Con.

Josh: A Comic Con? Wow! I've never been to one. What exactly is it? Isn't it kind of like Halloween? People wearing costumes and stuff?

Peggy: Well, in a way, yes. People do wear costumes of their favourite characters.

Josh: From comic books?

Peggy: Not necessarily. Comic books, yes, but also films, video games and fantasy books.

Josh: So, what costume did you wear?

Peggy: Oh, I was an Abhorsen from Garth Nix's trilogy.

Josh: Never heard of it. Anyway, so you cosplay as a character. What else is there to do?

Peggy: Lots of things! You can buy art inspired by books, films and games. Publishers bring the newest books, sometimes even before their official release. There are book signings, Q&A sessions with authors and panels dedicated to different books and films. There are also conferences with actors, costume competitions, and just a lot of people talking to each other, playing board games and having fun. It's a big festival where everyone is happy.

Josh: So, is it mostly for teenagers?

Peggy: Oh, no! All sorts of people! That's probably what I liked most about it. You should have seen it - young and old, big and small, men and women, sometimes even very elderly people, whole families with little kids, big serious-looking men - all wearing costumes and not afraid of looking silly. Just totally enjoying themselves.

Josh: Wow! That sounds like fun! How often do they have it?

Peggy: Once a year.

Josh: Okay. Maybe next year I'll go too. It certainly sounds better than fishing in the rain and feeling miserable.

Peggy: Most definitely!
