Imagine that you and your friend are doing a school project "Communication." You have found some illustrations and want to share the news. Leave a voice message to your friend. In 2,5 minutes be ready to:
— explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting the differences;
— mention the advantages (1–2) of the two types of communication;
— mention the disadvantages (1–2) of the two types of communication;
— express your opinion on the subject of the project — which way of communication you prefer and why.
You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (12–15 sentences). You have to talk continuously.
Hey, Kate. You know what? I’ve just found two pictures suitable for our project "Communication". Let me tell you a bit more about them.
These pictures are relevant to our project because they both show people talking to someone. In the first photo there is a woman, she seems to be talking on mobile phone. In the second photo there is a boy and a girl, they are pretty young, they are talking to each other and smiling. Obviously, both of these pictures feature people in the process of communicating. But there are some differences to illustrate our project better. For instance, in the first picture the woman is communicating with someone over distances while the boy and the girl in the second picture enjoy in-person communication.
In my opinion, the both types of communication have their advantages. For example, distance communication is really comfortable, especially for discussing work issues. At the same time, in-person communication can give people the opportunity to feel warm atmosphere and relax during or after a busy day. Of course, the types of communication have disadvantages too. For example, distance communication depends on the connection quality as well as device’s battery level. Meanwhile, in-person communication can be managed only if people live in the same city.
As for me, I prefer distant communication. It saves my time, energy and nerves as I can stop it whenever I want.
So, shall we use these photos in our project? Call me when you’re ready to discuss if we can use them. Bye-bye.
