Study the two photographs. In 1.5 minutes be ready to compare and contrast the photographs:
• give a brief description of the photos (action, location)
• say what the pictures have in common
• say in what way the pictures are different
• say which way of celebration presented in the pictures you prefer
• explain why
You will speak for not more than 2 minutes (12–15 sentences). You have to talk continuously.
I was given two photos and tasked to compare them. In the first photo we can see a man, a woman and a child. Both of the parents are pretty young, sitting in front of the Christmas tree and unpacking the gifts with their son. In the second photo there are children as well, they also seem to be celebrating some sort of birthday party, but they are doing it outdoors.
The pictures have a lot in common. Both are featuring people in the process of unpacking gifts, in both they seem to be enjoying themselves.
However, there is a significant difference between the two pictures. In the first one the man, the woman and the child are at home, surrounded by Christmas decorations and focused primarily on their child and the box as opposed to the children in the second picture, who are enjoying the fun and friendly atmosphere of the garden party and, seemingly, are focused more on each other`s presents than the birthday boy.
I don't like parties, but if I had to, I'd prefer to do it in the way depicted by the second photo. There are simply a lot more opportunities to have fun than you would have indoors, which is the reason I wouldn't like to celebrate my party at home.
That is all I had to say.
