Study the two photographs. In 1.5 minutes be ready to compare and contrast the photographs:
• give a brief description of the photos (action, location)
• say what the pictures have in common
• say in what way the pictures are different
• say what kind of activities presented in the photos you prefer
• explain why
You will speak for not more than 2 minutes (12–15 sentences). You have to talk continuously.
In the photo number one we can see а group of children. They are outside playing tug of war. They look a bit aggressive because they are playing against each other. In the picture number two we see another group of children (also four) who are sitting on a sofa and watching TV. They look very excited, perhaps, they are watching cartoons.
Both of the pictures show us two different ways of spending free time. In both of them there are four children. Kids on the left are outside, spending their free time actively, doing some sport activity. Those who are on the right are having a passive time spending indoors.
As for me, I can’t tell which way I’d prefer. Sometimes I like to spend my holidays outside, walking in the parks or going somewhere far from the city. Sometimes during the week I get that tired that I just want to take a rest. Usually my family and I spend our weekends passively, like it is shown in the picture number two. Whether it's a good thing or not, I don’t know.
