Задание 39 № 2

You have received a letter from your English-speaking pen friend Tom who writes:

...In Great Britain young people want to become independent from their parents as soon as possible. Could you tell me what you and your friends think about not relying on your parents? Are you ready to leave your family immediately after you finish school? Is it easy to rent a house or an apartment for students in Russia?

As for the latest news, I have just returned from a trip to Scotland ...

Write a letter to Tom. In your letter answer his questions, ask 3 questions about his trip to Scotland. Write 100−140 words. Remember the rules of letter writing.

St. Petersburg, Russia

Dear Tom,

Thank you for your letter, it gave me a lot of new information about young people, living in Great Britain.

In my opinion leaving family and parents house as soon as possible it’s a good idea. Everyone wants it. But, unfortunately, our government in Russia does not give students the sufficient amount of money to “survive”. The scholarships are low, the rent prices are high. To be independent in financial way means working or working and studying at the same time, which meant not having a happy student’s life. Talking about me, I’m not ready yet to take all these responsibilities and leave home.

By the way, about your trip to Scotland. What was the most amazing place that you visitied? Did you travel alone? How long have you been there?

I've got to go as my friend is asking me for help.

Write back soon.

Best wishes,
