You have received a letter from your English-speaking pen-friend Jane who writes:
...Last weekend was my mom's anniversary and we had a family gathering. We entertained more than 25 people and lived on leftovers for 2 days after the event. What do you usually cook for special occasions? How often do you entertain people in your family? Do you normally celebrate your family holidays at home, or go to a cafe or to a club? Why? Oh, before Iforget, my middle brother won our school tennis tournament...

Dear Jane,
Thanks for your letter. Say congratulations to your brother for winning that tournament!
When we have family gatherings (what usually happens when it’s someone’s birthday) we usually spend them at home, because our apartment is pretty big and it can accommodate many people at the same time. I usually help my mom to cover the table and to cook a holiday meal. She prepares some meat and garner, salads, and a holiday sweet cake. There is no need to entertain guests in a special way, we just talk about what happens in our lives and that’s all.
What plans do you have for this summer? Will you stay in the city or go somewhere far? What do your friends usually do during summer holydays?
Write back soon,
Best wishes,
Sarah.
