38.1. Imagine that you are doing a project on the favourite weekend activities of teenagers in Zetland. You have found some data on the subject — the results of a survey conducted among teenagers in Zetland (see the table below). Comment on the survey data and give your opinion on the subject of the project.

— outline a problem that can arise when choosing a weekend activity and suggest a way of solving it;
— conclude by giving and explaining your opinion on the importance of spending weekends wisely.

38.1 The aim of my project is to investigate which weekend activities are most popular among teenagers in Zetland. I have found a relevant survey and I am going to analyze its data.
Most Zetland teenagers prefer to stay at home and play video games, this option gained 41 percent. Much less teenagers chose to spend weekend actively, doing sports or going on a hike. Nevertheless, this option comes second gaining 30 percent. The least popular option was doing chores, with only 2 percent of respondents choosing this option.
To my mind, teenagers choose activities which are easily organized, like staying at home or doing sports whereas activities which require at least several people to gather are much less popular (going to the cinema with friends gained 17 percent and going to a party got 10 percent). On the one hand, this is understandable, since people often choose the easiest ways but on the other hand, it looks like friendship in the classical meaning of the notion is coming to an end these days.
Obviously, most Zetland teenagers prefer to have a good rest during the weekend. Though, indoor kinds of pastime are chosen by an alarminly big quantity of respondents. This could lead to gaining weight and losing skills of informal social interaction.
To my mind, it is important to keep balance between lazy recreation, physical activity and spending time with friends. I think, a good idea is to go on a short hike with your friends and then return home, clean your room and play video games.

38.2 The aim of this project is to investigate why many young Zetlanders choose to receive higher education. I have found a relevant survey and I am going to analyze its data.
The most popular aswer which got 31 percent of replies is about a good job in the future which can be obtained with a higher education. At the same time, third most common reply is also about wealth in the future. While only 6 percent of repondents honestly said that they obey their parents and simply do what they want.
It is obvious that young Zetlanders prefer to make their own decisions then simply following someone's advice, since only 18 percent of the respondents admitted that the followed their friends (12 percent) or did what their parents wanted.
To my mind, it is a bit dissapointing that there were no options like "I want to learn more about the sphere I am interested in". It is obvious that people consider higher education vitally important for a good life in the future but they forget that a boring job can be a real disaster.
I suppose, university degree does not always mean high salary and success but if you choose to study and then to work in the field which you find exciting, you will be a happy person.
