There are so many overweight people nowadays! Do you know why? People snack all the time! Where has the good old tradition of just eating three meals a day gone? Forgotten! Snack producers do all they can to turn people into junk-eating machines  — and they are succeeding! They get richer while people get fatter. It takes brains and willpower to resist the temptation to keep chewing all day. Hey, some people give snacks even to their pets! Then their pets need diets! It's crazy!

My life changed a year ago when I bought my first dryer  — you know, the machine that slowly dries fruit and vegetables? I have a garden where I grow everything, and in the past, I used to turn all my extra fruit into jams. But now, I thinly slice them and turn them into fruit chips  — the healthiest snack ever! My grandchildren adore these healthy snacks and take them to school! This is so much better than chocolate bars!

Today so many people work from home, and I'm no exception. It requires self-discipline, and I'm pretty good at dividing my day between work hours and time with my family. What I'm not good at is staying away from snacks and drinks. I end up drinking way more coffee than is good for me and devouring cookies, potato chips, candy bars and other junk. My belly is growing. But what can I do?

We often hear that fruit is the perfect snack. But is it, really? Not entirely! Modern fruit has way more sugar than it used to. Over time, people have bred fruit to be super sweet to be more competitive. So, if you want a truly healthy snack, grab a cucumber or a stick of celery. An apple a day might not keep the doctor away anymore!

Do you have a sweet tooth? I do. I know that's not good for me. Besides, buying cakes and candy is expensive. However, two years ago, I decided to learn how to bake healthy cakes  — with less flour and sugar. It was fun! I even started making baking videos and have quite a few followers now! I've even lost some weight in the process!

I'm a construction worker. I build roads. Boy, that's hard work! I'm hungry all the time! I used to carry chocolate bars and cans of soda in my pockets to snack on between the meals. Then one day my little kid told me what shepherds used to eat in the old days when they were out in the meadows with their sheep: cheese and milk! They studied it at school, for some reason. Guess what! I tried it! It worked! No more chocolates and sodas! I love learning from my kid!
