38.1. Many people believe that going to the theatre is the best way of spending free time. Although, there is a number of those who do not. The aim of the project I am currently working on is to find out why some Zetlanders are not keen on theatre-going. As part of my project, I have found and analyzed some relevant data presented in the table.
According to the data, there is quite a wide range of reasons of avoiding going to the theatre. It is clear that the majority of the respondents think it is too expensive, at 52%. Meanwhile, few interviewed have said they can watch pays online nowadays or time of performances is inconvenient (11% and 6% respectively).
It is worth mentioning that long way to theatre is slightly more frequent answer than other interests the people have. Obviously, it is rather difficult to get to the city centre where theatres are usually placed if a person lives in the county.
There is a problem that can arise with choosing a play to watch at the theatre. Many young people do not know classical plays so they hardy choose these performances to attend. One solution to this problem is to organize discussing clubs for the adolescents there they can meet directors and theatre actors, talk about performances and hold training courses and workshops in order to learn more about classical literature.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that theatre-going is important. I think, it is a great pleasure admiring a masterpiece on the stage. (255 words)
38.2. Many people believe that learning a foreign language is an essential part of modern life. The aim of the project I am currently working on is to find out more about studying foreign languages in Zetland. As part of my project, I have found and analyzed survey data on what matters most in learning a foreign language.
According to the data, people have quite a wide range of things they think of when it comes to take up studying a foreign language. It is clear that the majority of the respondents consider the number of students in a group to be very important (42%). However, speaking practice opportunities as well as reading books in foreign languages are not very significant for Zetlanders when they study foreign languages (15% and 10% respectively).
It is worth mentioning that having a good teacher is nearly four times as important as watching films in the original. To my mind, a person teaching others should definitely be skilled and experienced. Moreover, he should reach advanced degree in a certain language that is not easy to do.
One problem that one can face when self-studying a foreign language is that people are not ready psychologically for the real communication. It is hard for them to do their best in new conditions. One solution to this problem is to create volunteering centres where people can practice their language with other learners and native speakers.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that motivation matters most in learning a foreign language. I think it is impossible to do something without enthusiasm and being in favour of it. (267 words)
