Imagine that you and your friend are doing a school project "Jobs". You have found some photos to illustrate it but for technical reasons you cannot send them now. Leave a voice message to your friend explaining your choice of the photos and sharing some ideas about the project. In 2.5 minutes be ready to:
— explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting the differences;
— mention the advantages (1–2) of the two kinds of jobs;
— mention the disadvantages (1–2) of the two kinds of jobs;
— express your opinion on the subject of the project — which of these jobs you’d prefer and why.
You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (12–15 sentences). You have to talk continuously.
Hey, Kate. You know what? I’ve just found two pictures suitable for our project "Jobs". Let me tell you a bit more about them.
These pictures are relevant to our project because there are people on their workplaces. In the first photo there is a man. By the way he is dressed I can tell that he’s working as a builder. In the second picture there are people wearing special clothes as well. They are surgeons as I can see.
There are a few differences to illustrate our project better. Obviously, the first picture presented the kind of job which doesn’t require any special knowledge so it may be a part-time gob. However, the second one depicts well-qualified job demanding knowledge, skills and practice.
In my opinion, the two kinds of jobs have their advantages. For instance, working work at a construction site is nine to five job, so you can easily plan your day. As for the doctors, this kind of job is usually well-paid. Of course, the two kinds of jobs have their disadvantages as well. For instance, builder’s salary is too low. Meanwhile, surgery is very stressful work field.
As for me, I’ve never wanted to work as a builder. I think, it is really tough. I prefer having a good and well-paid job, that is why I’d prefer being a doctor.
So, shall we use these photos in our project? Call me when you’re ready to discuss if we can use them. Bye-bye.
