Imagine that you and your friend are doing a school project "Going to the Museum". You have found some photos to illustrate it but for technical reasons you cannot send them now. Leave a voice message to your friend explaining your choice of the photos and sharing some ideas about the project. In 2.5 minutes be ready to:
— explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting the differences;
— mention the advantages (1–2) of these two ways of visiting museums;
— mention the disadvantages (1–2) of these two ways of visiting museums;
— express your opinion on the subject of the project — which way of visiting museums you prefer and why.
You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (12–15 sentences). You have to talk continuously.
Hey, Kate. You know what? I’ve just found two pictures suitable for our project "Going to the Museum". Let me tell you a bit more about them.
These pictures are relevant to our project because there are people visiting museums. In the first photo there is a group of people on the excursion in a museum or an art gallery. In the second photo there are people in a museum as well, but they are looking at the exposition by themselves, as I can see. Obviously, both of these pictures feature people visiting museums. But there are some differences to illustrate our project better. The most striking difference is visiting a museum with a guide or without him.
In my opinion, both ways of visiting museums have their advantages. For instance, listening to the guide helps people understand the history or art better. As for visiting a museum alone, it is rather comfortable and people can spend as much time on a certain hall as they need. Of course, the two ways of visiting museums have disadvantages too. For example, a guide service may be rather expensive. Meanwhile, visiting a museum by your own can be complicated due to the queues.
As for me, I prefer to visit museums with a guide. I really like stories they tell about people and things. Also, I usually have a lot of questions and want to have the answers.
So, shall we use these photos in our project? Call me when you’re ready to discuss if we can use them. Bye-bye.
