Speaker A. Nowadays everyone knows that to get into a good university you have to have volunteering experience. Universities require their future students to be responsible members of society and to do some kind of community work. So, everyone is doing volunteering! No matter, whether they like it or not, no matter whether they really care. I know that many high school students just say that it's important to them. They just pretend! All they want is to go to a good university!
Speaker B. I'm a really shy person. I find it difficult to find friends or to go to noisy parties. However, ever since I started volunteering, I’ve found several good friends. Some of them are from my school, I just hadn’t met them before. It's so much easier to make a friend when you are doing something together, especially something that you find important, something that is good for other people, for the town you live in and for the environment! Volunteering is a big part of my life now.
Speaker C. I had never thought of volunteering until a counselor at school told me that it would look good on my application to university. I'd been working a lot throughout my high school years to make money for college but working for free seemed ridiculous. However, when I started, I really liked it! I've met so many interesting people who volunteer - people of all ages! And it's really pleasant to think that you are doing something good for others.
