Speaker A. When I was little, I often spent my time with my grandparents who lived in a very old house. One of their rooms was the library. I thought it was magical  — the bookshelves were up to the ceiling, most of the books were old and beautiful, with golden letters on the leather covers. I could spend hours there. Ever since then, I have had a very special attitude towards books and cannot get used to electronic readers  — they steal all that magic from the experience.

Speaker B. I don't often go to London. But when I do, my feet invariably bring me to Charing Cross  — the old part of London famous for its used bookstores. I love looking through shelf after shelf of old books, hoping to see something unusual, old and interesting. Sometimes I'm lucky and find true treasures. Old books can be quite expensive. People who own these bookstores are often collectors and know their value. But I don't mind paying more for a good book.

Speaker C. Books are my passion. I've always been a fast reader. Vacation is the best time for me to read. When I was young, my family made fun of me  — my backpack was always full of books. That was my priority while travelling. I could live without an extra T-shirt, but I had to have enough to read. These days, I feel so lucky to have an electronic reader. I can carry as many books as I want and also have a decent amount of clothes.

Speaker D. I’ve always known how to make time for reading. When I was a kid, it was easy. I could read on vacation; I also did my homework quickly to have enough time to read before going to bed. When I was a student in New York, taking the subway and buses was a blessing  — I read on my way to and from university. Now I have young children and we moved to the country, so I need to make time for reading again. With a big family, it's not easy. Well, at least I read a lot of children's books to my kids!

Speaker E. Reading has always been something I loved. I would say, I read a lot more in my childhood and teenage years than I do now, when I have to work a lot to provide for my family. This is why it's so strange for me that my children don't like to read. People often say that modern kids read just as much as we did, only it's not books  — it can be blogs, messages, etc. However, I don't think it's the same, even if it's true, which I also doubt.

Speaker F. Reading has always been a challenge for me. I realize now that I'm dyslexic, and this is the reason. When I was young, however, dyslexia was not something you often heard about, and if reading was difficult, it was your own fault - you were just lazy! I'm glad that I've finally figured out what's wrong with me. Even if I don't literally read, I love literature and enjoy audiobooks. I'm so happy that I can do it now without thinking that I'm stupid or blaming myself for being lazy!
