Imagine that you and your friend are doing a school project "Mealtime". You have found some illustrations and want to share the news. Leave a voice message to your friend. In 2.5 minutes be ready to:
— explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting the differences;
— mention the advantages (1–2) of the two ways of having meals;
— mention the disadvantages (1–2) of the two ways of having meals;
— express your opinion on the subject of the project — which way of having meals you prefer and why?
You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (12–15 sentences). You have to talk continuously.
Hey, Kate. You know what? I’ve just found two pictures suitable for our project "Mealtime". Let me tell you a bit more about them.
These pictures are relevant to our project because there are people eating something. In the first photo there is a man eating salad in his own kitchen. In the second photo there is a family having dinner for a special occasion. Obviously, both of these pictures are related to mealtime. But there are some differences to illustrate our project better. For instance, in the first picture the man is having a meal alone as opposed to the family in the second picture, these people are enjoying the meal together.
In my opinion, the two ways of having meals have their advantages. For example, people can think in silence if they eat alone. At the same time, having a family dinner can give people the opportunity to spend time together. Of course, the both ways of having meals have disadvantages too. For example, having meal alone can be boring especially if it is dinner, the time when people usually share their feeling about the day. Meanwhile, having meals together requires lots of preparations, such as doing shopping, cooking, serving and doing the washing up after all.
As for me, I prefer having meals with my family as it seems to me something like touching moments which I will remember for ages.
So, shall we use these photos in our project? Call me when you’re ready to discuss if we can use them. Bye-bye.
