Task 4. Imagine that you and your friend are doing a school project "Food". You have found some illustrations and want to share the news. Leave a voice message to your friend. In 2,5 minutes be ready to:
— explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting the differences;
— mention the advantages (1–2) of the two kinds of food;
— mention the disadvantages (1–2) of the two kinds of food;
— express your opinion on the subject of the project — what kind of food you preferred when you were a child and why.
You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (12–15 sentences). You have to talk continuously.
Hey, Kate. You know what? I’ve just found two pictures suitable for our project "Food". Let me tell you a bit more about them.
These pictures are relevant to our project because there are people eating something. In the first photo there is a schoolboy eating a hamburger. In the second photo there is a boy as well, he is serving salad during the family dinner. Obviously, both of these pictures are related to food. But there are some differences to illustrate our project better. For instance, in the first picture the schoolboy is in the school canteen, focused primarily on his burger as opposed to the boy in the second picture, who is enjoying the peace and comfort of his home, seemingly, focused more on the dish he is going to try.
In my opinion, both kinds of food have their advantages. For example, fast food is really comfortable, people do not spend time on cooking and they can eat it almost everywhere. At the same time, having a family dinner can give people the opportunity to spend time together, it is not having meal for them. Of course,the two kinds of food have disadvantages too. For example, junk food is generally high in calories so that it is not healthy. Meanwhile, homemade food requires some preparations, such as doing shopping, cooking, serving and doing the washing up after all.
As for me, I preferred burgers and junk food when I was a child as it seemed to me something like space food. I rarely ate it but I loved that moments.
So, shall we use these photos in our project? Call me when you’re ready to discuss if we can use them. Bye-bye.
