Task 4. Imagine that you and your friend are doing a school project "Reading books". You have found some illustrations and want to share the news. Leave a voice message to your friend. In 2,5 minutes be ready to:
— explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting the differencest;
— mention the advantages (1–2) of the two places for reading books;
— mention the disadvantages (1–2) of the two places for reading books;
— express your opinion on the subject of the project — where you'd like to read and why.
You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (12–15 sentences). You have to talk continuously.
Hey, Kate. You know that? I’ve just found two pictures suitable for our project "Reading books". Let me tell you a bit more about them.
These pictures are relevant to our project because there are people reading books. In the first photo there is a man reading a book outside. Perhaps, he is sitting in the local park or nearby the forest. In the second picture there is a student reading a textbook in the library. Obviously, both of these pictures are related to reading. But there are differences to illustrate our project better. In the picture on the left there is an old man reading for pleasure, on the right — a young man, probably a student, learning in the library.
In my opinion, the two places for reading books have their advantages. For instance, reading outside, somewhere in the park, can be relaxing and pleasant. As for reading in the library, there is quite a wide range of books of all genres. Of course, the ways of spending spare time have disadvantages too. For example, reading outside depends on the weather, it is uncomfortable to read in a windy day. At the same time, it may be rather boring to read in a silence if someone reads in a library.
Personally, I would like to read in the park. As for me, it’s more convenient to read in the place where there is fresh air and birds’ singing. It helps me concentrate on the subject and understand the material better.
So, shall we use these photos in our project? Call me when you’re ready to discuss if we can use them. Bye-bye.
