Task 4. Imagine that you are doing a project "Desserts" together with your friend. You have found some illustrations and want to share the news. Leave a voice message to your friend. In 2,5 minutes be ready to:
— give a brief description of the photos, justifying the choice of the photos for the project;
— say in what way the pictures are different, justifying the choice of the photos for the project;
— mention the advantages and disadvantages (1−2) of the two kinds of desserts;
— express your opinion on the subject of the project — what kind of dessert you’d prefer in summer and why.
You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (2−3 sentences for every item of the plan, 12−15 sentences total). You have to talk continuously.
Hey, Kate. You know that? I’ve just found two pictures suitable for our project "Desserts". Let me tell you a bit more about them.
These pictures are relevant to our project because there are people eating something sweet. In the first photo there are two ladies, both of them pretty young, sitting in a cafe and, apparently, tasting something. In the second photo there are two girls as well, they also seem to be tasting a watermelon, but, most likely, in their own garden or own house.
Obviously, both of these pictures feature people in the process of dining. But there are some differences to illustrate our project better. In the first picture the ladies are in a cafe, surrounded by other people and they are tasting delicious cakes as opposed to the couple in the second picture, who are enjoying the peace and comfort of their home and they are eating watermelon.
In my opinion, the two kinds of desserts have their advantages and disadvantages. For instance, cakes are usually delicious, sometimes they have unforgettable taste. However, cakes are generally high in calories. Eating fruit is much healthier. At the same time, every fruit is good in its season, and exotic fruits can cause allergic response.
As for me, I’d prefer eating fruits in summer. It seems to me that I like all kinds of fruits so that I’d choose them as a dessert in summertime.
So, shall we use these photos in our project? Call me when you’re ready to discuss if we can use them. Bye-bye.
