38.1. Nowadays a lot of teenagers spend their free time listening to music particularly there is a variety of music genres. The aim of the project I am currently working on is to find out more about it. As part of my project, I have found and analyzed some data on the most popular music genres among teenagers in Zetland.
According to the data, the teenagers in Zetland have quite a wide range of tastes when it comes to music genres. The vast majority of the respondents enjoy listening to alternative rock music as well as pop music (34% and 30% respectively). Rock music are also quite popular with the teenage listeners in Zetland (19%), whereas folk music appears to be the least popular music genre.
It is worth mentioning that rap is three times less popular than pop music. To my mind, younger generation loves dreaming, speaking about their feelings, dancing and they always fall in love that is why they choose this music genre more often.
Statistics reveal one problem connected with music industry. Obviously, there is no classical music in the table. Thus, teenagers in Zetland prefer listening to music for relaxation than broadening their horizons. One solution to this problem is to hold classical music festivals for teenagers there they can meet famous musicians and opera singers, listen to music together and discuss it.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that music industry is very important for teenagers’ life in Zetland. I think the adolescents can learn a lot of new things listening to music. (257 words)
38.2. Many people believe that surfing the internet is an essential part of modern life particularly there is a variety of devices helping do it. The aim of the project I am working on is to find out more about it. As part of my project, I have found and analyzed some data on what device is mostly used for connecting to the internet in Zetland.
According to the data, there is quite a wide range of devices providing access to the internet. It is clear that the majority of the respondents prefer using mobile phones as well as personal computers to stay in contact (42% and 25% respectively). However, TV connected to the global net is not so popular in Zetland, only 3% of the respondents chooses it to watch films online.
It is worth mentioning that laptops are two times as popular as tablets. To my mind, younger generation consider tablets to be too large for being taken everywhere. At the same time, businessmen prefer laptops to tablets because the second ones are suitable for work.
One problem that people often face surfing the internet is the poor quality of signal in some areas. It is very crucial nowadays due to the internet is necessary for working as well as for studying. One solution to this problem is to create free Wi-Fi zones in public places, such as libraries, railway stations, parks where people can spend their time effectively and gain access to the internet for free.
In conclusion, I believe that the internet plays a significant role in human life. It helps people be in touch, study and do business. (272 words)
