38.1. Nowadays the power engineering is very important industry for each county. The aim of the project I am currently working on is to find out sources of energy in Zetland. As part of my project, I have found and analyzed some relevant data presented in the table.
According to the data, there is quite a wide range of power sources in Zetland which are permanently used. It is clear that the natural gas is at the top of the table as well as the petroleum (53% and 22% respectively). Obviously, they are the main fossil fuels in the modern word.
It is worth mentioning that coal power stations and nuclear power stations taken together produce less energy than the natural gas. The reason is that the natural gas is easier to mine and it can be used in more spheres of peoples’ life.
The data indicate that the power industry in Zetland do not tend to use renewable sources of energy. The great problem that can arise with this fact is natural sources of energy are going to dwindle and needs are rising due to global warming. One solution to this problem is to build more wind, solar and tidal power stations in order to save the planet.
In conclusion, I firmly believe despite all problems energy generation is very important for Zetland. I think people can use power stations wisely in order to save the environment as well as develop modern technologies. (243 words)
38.2. Many people believe that living in a city is more comfortable than in the countryside. The purpose of the project I am currently working on is to find out more about it. As part of my project, I have found and analyzed some data on where people prefer living in Zetland.
According to the data, there is quite a wide range of places of living and each of them has the advantages. It is clear that the majority of the respondents consider outskirts as well as suburbs to be the best places of residence (40% and 30% respectively). Moreover, a great number of people (15%) would like to have a flat in the residential area of a city.
Surprisingly, only 9% of the respondents think about living in the countryside. It is a bit more popular answer than owing a flat in a downtown. To my mind, central part of big cities usually has heavy traffic jams and congested transport system, so that life there is not comfortable.
One problem that can arise with living in a city is that the air is polluted there. Thus, people living in a metropolis cannot breathe fresh air. One solution to this problem is to replace petroleum by clean fuels for vehicles and plant more trees.
In conclusion, I think that despite some problems associated with living in a big city, it is great place for living. Nowadays metropolises are changing towards the green environment. (242 words)
