38.1. Many people believe that living in a city is more comfortable than in the countryside. The purpose of the project I am currently working on is to find out more about it. As part of my project, I have found and analyzed some data on advantages of living in a city in Zetland.
According to the data, there is quite a wide range of benefits of living in a city. It is clear that the majority of the respondents (37%) think about changing their place of residence because there are better opportunities for work and study. Moreover, a great number of people (25%) would like to have all the modern conveniences. It is worth mentioning that various entertainment and events are significant for 22% of the respondents.
Surprisingly, only 10% of the respondents think about better roads and infrastructure. It is a bit more popular answer than better facilities for sports and art education. To my mind, big cities usually have heavy traffic jams and congested transport system, so that people have no time for doing sports.
One problem that can arise with living in a city is that the air is polluted there. Thus, people living in a metropolis cannot breathe fresh air. One solution to this problem is to replace petroleum by clean fuels for vehicles and plant more trees.
In conclusion, I think that despite some problems associated with living in a big city, it is great place for living. Nowadays metropolises are changing towards the green environment. (251 words)
38.2. Many people believe that traditional holidays are an essential part of human life because they are based on the history of the country. The purpose of the project I am currently working on is to find out more about it. As part of my project, I have found and analyzed some data on what traditional holiday is considered the most important in Zetland.
According to the data, there is quite a wide range of holidays people traditionally celebrate. It is clear that the majority of the respondents (44%) consider National Day to be the most important. Moreover, a great number of people (19%) like celebrating New Year. It is worth mentioning that Christmas is significant for 16% of the respondents.
Surprisingly, only 15% of the respondents think that Easter is a popular family holiday. It is slightly more popular answer than Mother’s Day. To my mind, Mother’s Day seems to be a family holiday and it does not have any traditions common to all the people.
One problem that can arise with celebrating traditional holidays is that the younger generation have been losing the connection with their ancestors since they prefer spending this time with their friends. One solution to this problem is to discuss the importance and history of traditional holidays at school in order to students can get used to being a part of theit countriy's great coulture.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that celebrating traditional holidays in families is very important nowadays. This magic time spent together helps families become closer. (254 words)
