38.1. It is understood that academic qualifications alone are not enough to succeed in a job interview and get the dream job, as employers always examine the personality of each candidate very carefully. While doing a project on what is important to get a job in Zetland, I found a diagram containing some relevant data that I am going to comment on.
According to the table, social skills stand first among the rest with 36%. Leadership skills are considered relatively less important with only 24%. Interestingly, multitasking skills seem to be less required as they make as much as only 5% of the polling percentage.
The data analysis reveals that teamwork skills, chosen by 20% of the surveyed, are four times as preferred as multitasking skills. At the same time, thinking skills with 15% are three times as essential as multitasking skills. Thus, it is obvious that social and leadership skills are considered paramount.
Although it is quite easy nowadays to apply for a job, as there are numerous job-search applications, there is always a problem of how to make your resume more appealing to employers. To solve this problem, it is important to consult an expert who could understand your strengths and weaknesses and build a suitable resume.
I would like to conclude that the increased interest in sociable skills is quite explainable. They enable to communicate more effectively helping to build, maintain and grow relationships with colleagues, clients and new contacts no matter your position, industry or experience level. (250 words)
38.2. Dreams are cherished expectations and ambitions people realize as long as they live. While doing a project on what modern teenagers in Zetland dream about, I found a diagram containing some relevant data that I am going to comment on.
According to the diagram, 38% of modern teenagers dream about promotion. Getting academic qualifications comes second with 21% of the surveyed. It can also be seen, that only 10% of teenagers prefer their financial wellbeing and it doesn’t seem to be one of their biggest dreams.
The polling percentage shows that climbing up a career ladder is almost four times as desired as financial wellbeing, and it is a good sign indicating that teenagers prefer work responsibility over money. At the same time, owning real estate is 3% more desirable than getting married, which is quite logical as one should have a house before having a family.
Although dreaming is always wonderful per se, there are two types of people — dreamers and doers. Most people cannot dovetail both these and that is a problem. Dream without action will never yield results. To solve the problem, a dreamer should pen down their dreams and prepare a roadmap to fulfill them.
To sum up, modern teenagers' dreams are realistic and achievable. Everyone wants to live in their own house, have a family and lovely children, be successful at work and afford not only basic necessities, but travelling and exploring the world as well. As it is said, where there is a will, there is a way. (254 words)
