40.1. The use of traditional boy names is a perfect way to make traditions live on, which means that naming boys with these names can keep traditional names alive. My project, which I am still working on, is aimed at finding out the popularity of boy names in England. I have found some data on this issue and organized it in the table below.
I can identify two main features of the statistics presented in the table below. The first one is that the name with the highest popularity is Oliver with a number of 4932 babies born in 2019 with that name. The second one is that the name Harry is the name with the lowest number of babies born in 2019 with that name.
It is also worth mentioning that George is the name with the second highest popularity, while Arthur is the name with the second lowest popularity.
In my opinion, the statistics in the table reveal an important problem. The use of traditional names can lead to a cultural stagnation, where there wouldn’t be a cultural development. I think that in order to solve this problem the parents should use more modern names and abstain from always using the same traditional names.
In conclusion, I believe that the promotion of newer and more modern names can foster cultural development.

40.2. Social media is a modern way for people to connect with each other and share their thoughts and views with others all over the world. My project, which I am still working on, is aimed at finding out the number of people actively using social media over the last decade. I have found some data on this issue and organised it in the graph below.
I can identify two main features of the statistics presented in the chart. The first one is that in 2010 social media had the lowest number of users, at just over 600 million. The second one is that in 2020 it had the most active users.
It is also worth mentioning that between 2010 and 2012 social media experienced the highest growth in the number of users.
In my opinion, the statistics in the table reveal an important problem. Too many people rely on social media for their daily social interactions, making them more introverted and shyer in real life. To solve this problem, people should start meeting up in real life more and try to make new friends at social meetings, instead of online.
In conclusion, I believe that social media is important, but nothing can beat the real-life experience of being close to your friends and family.
