Выберите только ОДНО из двух предложенных заданий (40.1 или 40.2). Укажите его номер и выполните согласно данному плану. В ответе на задание 40 числительные пишите цифрами.
40.1 Imagine that you are doing a project on how long it takes people to get to school or work. You have collected some data on the subject — the results of a poll (see the table below).
Comment on the data in the table and give your personal opinion on the subject of the project.
| Time | Percentage |
|---|---|
| 1−10 minutes | 10% |
| 10−30 minutes | 28,2% |
| 30−60 minutes | 28.5% |
| 60−120 minutes | 21.7% |
| 120+ minutes | 2.9% |
Write 200−250 words. Use the following plan:
— make an opening statement on the subject of the project work;
— select and report 2−3 main features;
— make 1−2 comparisons where relevant;
— outline a problem that can arise with travelling to school or to work and suggest the way of solving it;
— draw a conclusion giving your personal opinion on the importance of commuting fast in human life
40.2 Imagine that you are doing a project on CO2 emissions in China. You have collected some data on the subject (see the diagram below).
Comment on the data in the diagram and give your personal opinion on the subject of the project.

40.1. The time used to commute to work or school plays a valuable role in people’s time management. My project, which I am still working on, is aimed at finding out how long it takes people to get to school or work. I have found some data on this issue and organized it in the table below.
I can identify two main features of the statistics presented in the table below. The first one is that the lowest percentage of people take more than 120 minutes. The second one is that the highest percentage of people take between 30 to 60 minute.
It is also worth mentioning that the time with the highest percentage is only slightly higher from the second highest time by 0.3%.
In my opinion, the statistics in the table reveal an important problem. We can see that more than 50% of people take between 30 minutes to 120 minutes to commute to work or school, consisting of a high amount of time spent by people. I think that in order to solve this problem the government should promote quicker alternatives to commuting to work or school for its citizens.
In conclusion, I believe that quicker alternatives for commuting to work or school can decrease the amount of time spent to get to school or work.

40.2. CO2 emissions are a result of many industrial processes and too much of them can lead to terrible consequences, such as global warming. My project, which I am still working on, is aimed at finding out how the amount of CO2 emissions changed over the recent years in China, which is a major CO2 producer. I have found some data on this issue and organised it in the graph below.
I can identify two main features of the statistics presented in the graph. The first one is that the lowest number of tons per capita was in 1995, at only 2.5. The second one is that in 2010 it has reached the highest figure of over 6.
It is also worth mentioning that between 1995 and 2000 CO2 emissions per capita only increased slightly.
In my opinion, the statistics in the table reveal an important problem. We can see that the rates at which China increases its CO2 production are dangerous and must be dealt with immediately. I think that in order to solve this problem China should use more responsible ways of disposing of the waste gas and limiting its production in the first place.
In conclusion, I believe that a conscious approach to CO2 emissions is vital for all humanity to create a better future.
