Speaker A. One of the things I don’t like about sports is how sweaty you get if you want to do it for real, burn some serious calories and keep fit. Every time I jog or lift weights I keep thinking about the shower  — to get nice and fresh again and… not smelly. Well, there’s one sport where you don’t have to feel all sweaty and yucky  — swimming! I love it! No matter how fast you swim, you really enjoy yourself, with the water all around you, cool and refreshing. It’s pure joy!

Speaker B. I’ve been doing yoga for three years now, and I’m so happy that I’ve finally found the way to stay fit and not worry too much about it. Doing yoga is so peaceful and meditative! And you end up training muscles you had no idea even existed in your body. I began in a group with a teacher, and that did me a lot of good. There were many things that the teacher had to explain for me to better understand yoga. But now I’ve found a great on-line course. So I don’t even have to go anywhere.

Speaker C. It has always been difficult for me to keep fit. I’m one of those unlucky people who easily gain weight and then cannot lose it. I’m also kind of lazy and have a hard time making myself go for a jog or do exercises at home. But it all changed when I became a member at the gym. I hate wasting money, and those membership fees are not cheap! So it became the main motivation for me not to skip training. And look at me now  — not a single extra pound on my belly!

Speaker D. Many parents take their young children to ballet lessons. It’s considered to be good for them even if they don’t become professional ballet dancers in the future. But most of these children quit ballet by the time they become teenagers. The same happened to me. But many years later, when I started thinking what sport to take up to keep fit, I decided that ballet dancing is best for me. I usually enjoyed it as a kid, and I still enjoy it now!

Speaker E. I’m a morning person. I cannot even imagine waking up later than five or six in the morning. Morning is the best time of the day for me which I usually spend in the park with my dog. We enjoy jogging together and watching the sunrise. With the fresh air on my face and the wind blowing through my hair, I have a feeling that I’m running away from all of my problems and difficulties and feel free, strong and happy. It’s by far the best way to begin a new day, and to keep fit, for that matter.

Speaker F. I think in a climate where there are four distinct seasons, the best way to keep fit is follow the seasons and do seasonal sports. I believe this is the way our ancestors lived, and it seems very natural to me. This way I’m never bored. So, I ski and skate in winter, jog and skateboard in late spring and summer. I also ride my bike a lot when it’s not rainy. And if you are wondering what I do in late autumn and early spring,  — I go to the swimming pool and enjoy the water!
