Расшифровка записиNow we are ready to start.
Eric: Hi Miranda! What's this monstrosity you are carrying? It looks heavy. Can I give you a hand?
Miranda: Oh, hi! Thank you, Eric! I think I've overestimated my weight-lifting capacity.
Eric: Woah! It's certainly a 2-person job! What is this?
Miranda: It's a folding table. I'm carrying it to St. Valentine's arts and crafts fair that's organised by the Arts Department of our university. Arts majors sell a lot of cool things there that they make themselves — paintings and posters, but also things they make out of glass and wood in their amazing workshops. Perfect presents for St. Valentine's Day — which is already next week! Have you bought anything for Jennifer yet?
Eric: No... I have a problem coming up with the right idea.
Miranda: There you go! The ideas will be all around you, all you'll need to do is choose! Which, to be honest, can be hard, too. I personally tend to want to buy everything they have!
Eric: Cool. But wait a second. None of this makes any sense. Why are you carrying a table to a fair?
Miranda: Because it is not only arts majors that are allowed to sell things at this fair. I will be selling earrings!
Eric: Earrings? You make earrings?
Miranda: I do! I love making them!
Eric: How do you make them?
Miranda: Some of them I carve from wood and then paint, some of them are acrylic.
Eric: How do you make anything out of acrylic?
Miranda: We have fantastic 3D printers and laser cutters at the Physics Department, and as a physics major, I have access to them and the right to use them, as long as I bring my own materials.
Eric: Wow! Earrings made with 3D printers and laser cutters! How much do you sell your earrings for? Jennifer loves earrings!
Miranda: I sell mine for 15 dollars. But you need to see them first! See if you like them! Don't feel obliged to buy them just because we are friends.
Eric: OK.
Miranda: So here we are! I think I will set up my table right here.
Eric: How do you unfold it?
Miranda: You pull those legs, and I will pull these... Good. Now, fix them with those metal things... And now let's set it upright — on the count of three. One, two three! Done! All set! Thank you so much, Eric!
Eric: Not a problem. So, when will the fair open? It looks like everyone is busy setting up their tables.
Miranda: Let me see — in 20 minutes.
Eric: Oh, good! I have time to go and grab a cup of coffee, then!
Miranda: Yes, you do!
Eric: I'll be right back. See you soon, then, Miranda!
Miranda: See you, Eric!
